Reception Edit

The manga has been praised as a relevant and praiseworthy retelling of the original manga while expanding on elements that were present but were ignored, while ignoring the unneeded filler. of the original. The artwork was praised for capturing the style of creator Matsumoto's style, yet lacked the 'sweeping grandeur' Matsumoto was known for.[2]
